The River of Doubt
A friend of mine gave me this book without any recommendation that it was a good book. One day when I was looking for something new to read and wanted a change of pace, I started reading it and was submerged into a fascinating adventure. In addition to learning about the Brazilian rain forest and Theodore Roosevelt there were many lessons to be learned with respect to perseverance, proper planning, and leadership.
The ordeals that this expedition faced were beyond extraordinary. You will also learn about a Brazilian hero by the name of Colonel Candido Rondon who without this expedition might have failed completely.
